No, nothing’s wrong. We’re not fighting. The wedding is still on. D. and I wanted to see a counselor, just to check in and make sure we’re on the right track. We’ve both been divorced before, and even though we think the way we’ve been resolving issues has been healthy, we wanted some reassurance that indeed it is. Also, it’s always good thing to gain additional insight about yourself and your significant other.

I’m not a fan of counseling or therapists. When we left the session, we came to the realization that not only are we a lot better off than most couples, but the $45 we spent on therapy could have been put to a much better use, like dinner and movie.

I highly suggest that all soon to be wedded couples go see a counselor at least once to either come to the same realization or to identify underlying problems.
